Highly Commended in Minds Underground Competition

Essays written by Krish B and Theo B (Lower Sixth) have been highly commended in the prestigious and ferociously competitive Minds Underground essay competition.
The competition is global, and Krish and Theo were competing against students from some of the world’s most formidable educational institutions, including St Paul’s Girls »»ÆÞ¾ãÀÖ²¿, the Raffles Institution (Singapore’s oldest school), Dubai College (one of the top international schools in the Middle East), and several leading schools in Shenzhen, Beijing, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Caterham was one of only two schools globally (St Paul’s Girls being the other) whose students’ essays were recognised in both the History and the Politics categories.

Krish’s essay explored ethical challenges in International Relations, analysing the tensions between the principles of Westphalian sovereignty and the moral duty to provide humanitarian relief. Theo’s essay, meanwhile, made a powerful and compelling case for writing women back in to those historical narratives in which they have conventionally been overlooked.Â
Congratulations to both Krish and Theo!
